4 Things We Learned Last Week
Last week Andre and Ricky attended COLAB23, the annual OffsiteNZ conference. It was a great opportunity to network with our colleagues in the offsite industry and to share our journey so far. Here are our 4 key takeaways from the 2-day conference.
How to get started with Flexi
Flexi Panels have been optimised for offsite manufacture and interchangeability. This enables us to streamline the design process, standardise documentation, and ultimately achieve a weathertight structure in a matter of days.
Configurable Design.
You're looking to build a home. There's only one question. Do you pick from a catalogue of cookie-cutter plans - a streamlined process with cost certainty - or break the bank and engage the services of a design professional to create an architectural masterpiece?
Home of the Future.
At Flexi House, we're working to build a better future for people and the planet. We believe that the home of tomorrow will be flexible - able to adapt to its inhabitants' needs without sacrificing comfort, aesthetics or the environment.
Completion.
The first Flexi House is complete. After 7 weeks in the Makers Fabrication factory, 13 hours to achieve weathertight assembly and 6 weeks of fitout onsite at Forest Lodge Orchard in Cromwell, the Flexi is habitable.
13 Hours Weathertight.
Flexi House - the home of the future - is being built now at Forest Lodge Orchard on the outskirts of Cromwell. It took just 13 working hours from when the Hiab arrived onsite to assemble a weathertight structure out of unitised panels manufactured offsite.
Building Offsite.
Flexi House’s unitised panels are manufactured offsite to a high level of prefabrication, with framing, RAB, cavity, cladding and glazing all being installed offsite. Once the panels arrive onsite, it will only take a few days to assemble them and have a weathertight structure.
A Product Approach.
What would the housing market look like if a house could be built in a matter of days? With our product approach, Flexi House explores just that.
Proof of Concept.
Sometimes it’s just meant to be. When the opportunity arose to work with Forest Lodge Orchard – the world’s first zero-emission food producer – Flexi jumped at the chance.
We are Flexi.
Flexi is building the home of the future. To do this, we’re challenging everything we previously thought about housing and redefining what a home could be. We’re creating flexible architecture so a home can grow and change with its users. Flexi is built for change.
